The Body Burden refers to the total amount of chemicals that are present in the body at any given time. What is important to remember is that it is not simply exposure to any one toxic chemical that harms most people.
The most troubling aspect of exposure to toxic chemicals is that are bodies are constantly being exposed, all day long.
A "toxin" is any substance that causes harm to the body and "toxic load" is the accumulation of those toxins that burdens the bodies systems and organs. Toxins can be inhaled in the air we breathe, ingested through the food we eat or absorbed when something is applied to the skin. We absorb up to 60% of what we put on our skin.
